Melissa & Steve {Toronto Island Engagement Photographer}

Last night we ventured downtown to meet Melissa & Steve at the harbourfront. Ferry tickets in hand, we missed the first boat and landed on one of the three islands. It was a great evening with warm and moody skies.

I've never been to the island but it was so amazing! A very carefree, hipster and surreal way of life. Residents who live on the island take the ferry over with their bikes and run errands in the city since there are no services like grocery stores, postal service etc on the island.

You need an (expensive) permit to shoot there but people were so friendly and never said a word to us. Steve and Melissa were so fun, easygoing and obviously comfortable with each other. They have been dating since teenagers and we are thrilled to be shooting their fall wedding at our favourite Venue, The Eglinton Grand.

Just as we wrapped up our session last night, it started to rain. It was perfect timing. We parted ways and I am so excited to see them again in October!

Here's some photos of their evening. I love her red hair against his Italian skin. I told them they reminded me of the all American love story, kind of like Sandy and Danny from Grease.
